"I want a white house with blue shutters..."

I've blogged about The Notebook numerous times, because it's been my favorite movie since I saw it almost 10 years ago. Every time I see it, I fall even more in love with the big white house with blue shutters that Noah builds for Allie. I'm still waiting on my Noah, so while I wait, I'll just dream that one day someone will build me a house like this.

I love the idea of fixing up an old house. Old houses just have so much character, and I always think about the happy memories that other families shared in them.

I would love a huge white house with a wrap-around porch and rocking chairs out front.

The hardwoods throughout the inside are gorgeous!

Allie's art studio is amazing. I love that there's a balcony right off of her studio, too.

And of course, one of my favorite features is the staircase. Could it be any more perfect?

Are you as obsessed with The Notebook as me? Have a fabulous day!

How to: Write the perfect to-do list

This semester, I'm taking more classes than I've ever taken (who said 2nd semester seniors had it easy?!), working 3 days a week at my internship, and job-hunting. My week is filled to the brim, and if I don't organize it well, I'm completely overwhelmed. I keep sane by writing to-do lists for everything! Everyone has a different writing method for their to-do lists, but today I thought I'd show y'all how I organize/write my lists.

 Weekly
I use my Lilly planner to write my to-do lists. I'll write reminders at the bottom of each day about what is coming up that week (like a paper or a quiz), until the day it's actually due, to remind myself of what I need to do. I also write out what my internship duties are at the beginning of the week, then organize them by day.

Daily
I write to-do lists to help me remember smaller tasks I need to do each day. I have really bad short-term memory, so I need to write everything down to remember it.

Hourly
When I'm really in a time crunch or have a lot of work to do in one nigh, then I write out an hourly to-do list. I know I don't have time to waste, so this helps me stay on track and avoid Tweeting, Instagramming, and Facebooking.

Do you use to-do lists? Any tips? Have a fabulous day, y'all!

Bathroom Inspiration

I've never had a bathroom of my own, so I'm excited to have one to myself in my post-grad apartment, and I'm also really excited to decorate it! I'm thinking I want something simple, yet personal. The walls are a pretty tan, so I want to stick to a more neutral color scheme, with splashes of pink. Here's what I'm thinking:

Monogrammed Shower Curtain
I want a white shower curtain with a pink monogram in the middle, like this one.

Towels
I love crisp white towels with a pop of color. I love this small dose of pink!

Framed Picture
Like I've said before, I'm looking for pieces that I can grow with, so I love, love, love this watercolor quote. I would love to have one with my favorite quote on it! I could imagine this in my home for years to come!

Bath Accessories
I really like these clear acrylic containers. Maybe with a monogram?

Styling Tools Organizer
Love this organizer! It's perfect for my hot tools, and the base is made of heat-resistant silicon, so hot tools can be directly put in it after use!

I hope y'all have a great week!

Little Things I Love

Today, I thought I'd share some of the little things that I love:

Personalized Stationery
I love sending snail mail, and of course, I monogram everything.

Starbucks
I switch drinks every season, but I've been on a tea kick lately. I get an Iced Venti 2-Splenda Black Tea.

David Yurman bracelets
I love my bracelets so much and wear them every day. I got each one for a special occasion, and every time I put them on or take them off, I think about when I received each one.

Fresh flowers
Peonies are my favorite! Fresh flowers are so cheery--I love having them in my room.

Diet Coke
This is a daily necessity. No explanation necessary.

The Real Housewives
I love all of the Housewives, with the exception of Miami. Tuning into mindless, catty TV is the best.

What are some little things you love? Have a great day!

Long Hair Care

Over the past couple of years, my hair has gotten longer than it's ever been. However, I feel like it hasn't gotten any longer in the past couple of months, so I've really become focused on caring for it better. Here are some key components of my hair routine:

I've been taking this on and off for about a year, and my hairdresser always says my hair is healthier and stronger when I'm using it. I've been setting an alarm to make sure I take it every day, to help my hair grow. The Target brand is less than $3!

Y'all, this is the best shampoo ever. I've been trying not to wash my hair every day, and it is great on my roots! My scalp tends to get oily, while the rest of my hair is fine, so I spray this on my roots and it covers up the "I haven't washed my hair in days" look. It also has a nice smell and is sulfate-free! Plus, it's around $8, which is an awesome price!

I've been using this shampoo on and off for a couple of years, and it has continuously been my favorite. I love that it's salt and sulfate-free!

This conditioner claims to nourish and restore moisture to hair without weighing it down. I love it! It leaves my hair super-soft and has a great smell!

Other than these products, I've been trying to only wash my hair 2-3 times per week and I've been using heat protectant spray before using my blow dryer or flat iron.

What are some of your long hair tips? Have a great day!

Hulu vs. Netflix

I've had Netflix since freshman year of college, but I've become really into it the past year or so. During the year, I hardly ever watch actual TV, so I start series of shows on Netflix. I like having it as background noise as I'm blogging and getting ready in the morning. However, I got an email about a free month of Hulu Plus and decided to give Hulu a try. I've torn as to what I like best, so I've attempted to highlight each program's strengths/weaknesses:

Netflix
$7.99/month
-There are no commercials, which I love!
-More movies, but there are fewer current seasons of TV shows.
-More selection of shows that have ended.
-Works on my iPad.
-Favorites: One Tree Hill, Revenge seasons 1-2, Gossip Girl

Hulu
$7.99/month
-I love that they have the latest seasons of my favorite TV shows.
-I hate that newer shows have commercials. I don't want to pay for a service that makes me watch commercials during my shows. Isn't that the point of subscribing to a service like this?
-Works on my iPad.
-Favorites: Revenge (latest season), The Good Wife

Do you have Netflix or Hulu? What's your opinion? Have a great weekend, y'all!

Signatures by LGG

Signatures by Little Giant Graphics (or LGG for short) is a cute Etsy shop based out of Virginia that offers the best metallic monogrammed pillow covers! Owner Laura describes her shop as "gifts and accessories with personal flair." Laura was sweet enough to send me a box full of goodies, including a hat, sorority tee, and this gorgeous monogrammed gold pillow cover!

I am in love! I've been looking for more "grown-up" ways (read: less pink) to incorporate monograms into my post-grad apartment, and this pillow is perfect. I'm still obsessed with pink (and will always be obsessed), but I want a look that can grow with me, so I'm adding in more neutral tones, with colorful accents. I know this pillow will be gorgeous on my bed!

Laura has several different styles of pillows, as well:

Name or monogram

I had a hard time choosing between gold and silver--I love both--but this baby pillow with the weight, name, and time of birth would make a great baby gift!

I love this single initial for a family room.

Laura also included this adorable hat in my package!

Where would you put your monogrammed pillow from Signatures by LGG? Have a terrific Thursday!

Structured

I've been starting my post-grad job search (so scary!!), which has inspired me to start looking at new work bags. I love my Longchamps, but I think I might want something more structured for a work bag. My dream is the LV Neverfull, but I'm loving these, also:

Emily Thorne's Beach Cottage

I told y'all that I've become obsessed with Revenge, and Emily Thorne's beach cottage is no different. Her Hamptons cottage has a shabby chic feel that's feminine, yet perfect for the beach. I love the huge porch and the large glass doors that she usually leaves open.

Love her ceilings!

I love her glass door cabinets and the breakfast island.

Her fireplace is gorgeous and really stands out against all of the light shades and white.

Her bedroom is so feminine and shabby chic.

Do you love Emily's house as much as me? Have a great day, y'all!
