Reading List

Honestly, I've been watching too much TV and Netflix lately. In an effort to cut back, I went out and got a few books that I've been wanting to read. Here are the books in my to-read pile:

If I Stay
I'm about 3/4 of the way finished with this one, and it's so sad, but good! I'm hoping to watch it before I see the movie!

Me Before You
I got this book from my mom, who read it in two days! She said it's so sad, but such a great love story. If you're not familiar with this book, click here to read a synopsis. I'm about a 100 pages in, and  I'm hooked! I stayed up way too late last night reading it.

The Husband's Secret
I'm on a waiting list at the library for this book (read synopsis here), but I've heard that it's SO suspenseful and really makes you think about choices in your life! Mom said she thought about it for days after she finished!

True Colors
I loved Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah, as well as Winter Garden. All of her novels are tear-jerkers, but I love them. I found this novel in my house (it must have been loaned to someone at some time haha), and it sounds intriguing. It's about three sisters who bond after their mother's death. It seems like it will be a quick read!

Do y'all have any other suggestions? I'll make sure I let y'all know my opinions when I finish each book! Have a lovely day!

Recent Buys & Beauty Tries

I thought I'd share my opinion on some recent buys and beauty tries of mine!

Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer
I received a sample of this primer with a recent beauty purchase and tried it for the first time last week. It definitely kept my eyeshadow on all day, but it looked SO cakey by the end of the day. I have a few samples of the other Urban Decay primers, but I definitely won't be trying this one again.

Tory Burch Caroline Flats
These were marked down 25% during a Nordstrom sale two weeks ago, and I had been wanting a nude pair of Tory flats for a while! They're more comfortable than Revas, but I wore them for 5 hours straight during work (standing the entire time), and they still weren't the most comfortable.

Ann Taylor
I love this Ann Taylor sweater. I'm waiting for it to go on sale, but it looks so great on! I'd pair it with boots, leggings, and some cute accessories.

Mariposa Bowl
I found Mariposa at my local TJ Maxx last week! It reminds me of the baskets in Charleston, so of course I scooped it up. It was marked down to only $19! This one is similar.

Tiny Prints Pillow
I received this pillow as a gift for participating in Tiny Print surveys. I couldn't find one that matched my room, so I ordered this one for my parents' bed. It's great quality and so cute! I want this throw blanket next.

Maybelline Volum' Express
I always play around with different mascaras, so I picked this one up last week. I like it, but it's not anything amazing. I'm not sure if I'd buy it again, but it works well on my lashes.

Aveeno Dry Shampoo
I've blogged about this dry shampoo before, but I seriously love it so much. It always works so well, and it smells fresh.

Any recent beauty buys or products you've tried lately? Have a wonderful day!

I've never been a fan of solitaire engagement rings. I think they look great on other people, but they're a little too simple for me. However, I love solitaire diamond necklaces. I've been obsessed with the look lately, and I'd love to add one to my jewelry collection in the future.

I'm loving these:

Do you love this look as much as me? Have a terrific day!

Life Lately

Here are a few things I've been up to lately:

I went to an apple festival with my parents last weekend. It was interesting to say the least haha. Not sure if we'll be returning, but the Blue Ridge Mountains are SO gorgeous in the fall. We brought all of these apples home!

Sometimes being in the country is so refreshing. It was chilly, and I enjoyed the two hour road trip there. The view was gorgeous, and the air was so fresh.

I found these thank you notes in the $1 section at Michael's last week. Aren't they so cute?! I try to buy nicer stationery, but I keep these in stock for little notes to my friends or family.

I'm obsessed with pumpkins. Mom has a whole display at our house!

I picked up five little pumpkins last week and glittered two of them. I love the gold one so much! All I did was paint Mod Podge on the pumpkins, then I sprinkled glitter on them. Voila!

I wrote here about my dilemma regarding gel nails, but every winter, I'm convinced to try them again.  I got gel again this weekend, so I'll keep y'all updated on them. I'm always hoping they'll be better the next round!

I saw Gone Girl last weekend. I read the book a few months ago, and honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of the book. However, the movie was really great! It was a bit long, and I probably wouldn't watch it over and over, but it was so good! Much better than the book, in my opinion.

Nordstrom seriously has the best customer service. They price-matched a Tory Burch purse I wanted about a month ago, which made me so happy. Then the Tory emblem got chipped this week, so I put in a phone call, and a new one is on it's way to me! SUCH amazing customer service.

What have you been up to? Have a great week!

You know you're old when...

Lately, I've been feeling like I'm 22 going on 92. Here are somer reasons why:

I use eye cream every night. I don't want crow's feet in 10 years, so you can never be too careful, right?

I've started liking red wine. In college, I drank very cheap wine (hello, Barefoot Moscato), but now, I find myself liking expensive and red wines. This blueberry wine from a VA vineyard is one of my family's favorite dessert wines.

I'm obsessed with china patterns. Spode Blue Italian, anyone?

A party that starts at 10 pm is a little late for me. I have to drink an extra Starbucks to stay up late now. #grandmastatus

I've been collecting items for my future home. My birthday list includes a few new Mariposa items (this, this, and this) and a blue and white umbrella holder (I want one like this one above). SO boring, right?

I've started hoarding holiday decorations for the day I can decorate a space larger than just my room. I'll definitely be an old person when I start decorating my entryway for every holiday, but I can't wait to do it!

Have a fabulous weekend, y'all!

Storybook Cottage

As y'all probably know, I'm a little bit addicted to real estate. I love looking at different homes throughout the south, in both the city and the country. Yesterday, I stumbled upon the cutest little 2-bedroom cottage in Beaufort, SC that was once a schoolhouse. Look at how cute it is post-renovation:

So adorable, right? I'd love to move in ASAP! Hope y'all have a terrific day!

Loafers at Every Price Point

I'm all about loafers this fall. I love that they can be casual or professional. Here are some images I've pinned of looks I love:

I've been looking for the perfect pair of loafers and have stumbled upon several great selections at various price points:

Only $19.99!

I love the leopard! These sell for $110 at Nordstrom.

These are currently on sale for $96. I love the navy!

I usually hate Coach, but I like these! They're a little more expensive at $158.

The plaid is great for Christmastime! These retail for $65.

Jack Rogers
I'm kind of digging this Jack Rogers pair! They're a bit pricey at $148, but I feel like they'd get lots of use!

Are you as into loafers as me? How do you wear yours? Have a fabulous day!
