Loving: Garden Stools

I've been on a serious interior design kick lately. I think it's because I'm starting to gather items for my post-grad apartment. I'm not sure when I'll be moving into a place of my own (it depends on where I get a job), but that's not stopping me from collecting items for my future place. Right now, I'm loving garden stools, and I've been searching for the perfect one. Here are some of my inspiration images:

Hostess Gifts

I'm always looking for new hostess gift ideas, but I tend to stick to the same ones. I'm guilty of usually bringing a nice bottle of wine, unless I know the host(ess) very well. However, I'm always trying to think of unique gifts to bring. Here are some of my favorite hostess gifts:

1. A personalized cutting board with a set of cute spreaders
2. A nice candle (make sure it's not too strong if you don't know the likes/dislikes of the hostess)
3. A bottle of champs or wine
4. A flower arrangement or a plant (you can enjoy the plant longer than just an arrangment)
5. A cocktail shaker
6. A cute bottle opener or corkscrew attached to a bottle of wine
7. A handtowel (love this one)
What's your go-to hostess gift? Have a wonderful day!

"The cure for anything is salt water--sweat, tears, or the sea." ~Isak Dinesen
Although this is my own little corner of the world and blog space, I always struggle with how much I should share with y'all about my personal life. I know I've been keeping y'all updated about graduation/the job hunt, but I've had some difficult life decisions to make recently, and they've been taking a toll on my stress level (which is already high, due to personal issues, classes, midterms, projects, my internship, sorority, etc.). On Friday night I realized I had to leave the city, even if it was just for the day. So Saturday, I headed to a place that I knew I could feel at peace: the beach.

I cannot tell y'all how relaxing it was to sit at the edge of the water and just talk with one of my best friends. It was the perfect day: breezy, not too hot, and the beach was fairly empty. Although the water was cold, we put our feet in, and the tide occasionally made its way to where we were sitting.

We walked along the shore and collected shells for an upcoming craft project that I have planned, but other than that, we did absolutely nothing. And y'all--it was perfect.
A little sandcastle I made.

Sometimes you just need one of those days to regroup and refresh. I'm already planning my next one!

Have a terrific day!

How to: Be More Productive + Lilly at Estée Lauder

When I'm super stressed out (like I was yesterday), I get SO overwhelmed thinking about everything I need to do. And when I say overwhelmed, I mean call my mom and cry about how late I'll be up that night. Because I get so overwhelmed, I have to make a strict schedule and follow it, or I'll end up getting even more stressed out from wondering how I'm going to fit it all in. This list is borrowed from Levo League, but it's basically the same way I handle my busiest days.
Easier said than done, right? This is my actual schedule from yesterday:
I had a huge test today, a paper due right after that, and another paper due Friday morning by 8am. I knew I could crank out the paper due Friday in a couple of hours, so I prioritized my tasks and the most important thing was reading and studying for my test. I scheduled time in my day for the non-negotiables (class, my internship, meals, etc.), and then also scheduled in some "me time" and breaks, which may have included one-two of these:
For me, it's essential to have breaks, where I call my BFF, stop by a sister's room to chat, or just zone out on Pinterest. I look forward to the breaks and think that they actually make me work harder while I am studying.
What are your tips for being more productive?
Also, I'm sure y'all have heard, but Estée Lauder is having a fabulous promotion with Lilly right now. Macy's is offering a free Lilly bag filled with goodies (which is valued at $120) with any $35 purchase, available until March 23rd!
You can also customize your gift by choosing bold or subtle colors. I wish I was closer to a Macy's so I could take advantage of this fabulous offer. I'm loving the bags this year!
Have a wonderful day!

Sometimes, my friends and I like to talk about who we'd choose if we were given a golden ticket to marry any celeb we wanted. Here are some men that make me swoon:
Liam Hemsworth
Chuck Bass (I know, I know, he's not real.)
Josh Lucas

Luke Bryan

Ryan Gosling
It would definitely be a hard choice for me haha! Who's your celeb crush? Have a wonderful Wednesday, y'all!

Warby Parker

I've been a big fan of Warby Parker for a while--I'm dying for a pair of their sunglasses. Warby Parker was created by four friends to challenge the bland, overpriced eyewear of modern times. The company believes that prescription eyewear should not cost a fortune, and they offer free shipping and free returns! They also promise to "do good" and for every pair of frames bought, they donate a pair to someone in need. I love companies with a mission!
I was recently contacted by Warby Parker about their newest line, the Spectrum Sun Collection.
The line includes nine new sunglasses styles that are bright, just in time for the warmer season ahead. For maximum color, they have outfitted two new, oversized frames – Minnie in Eucalyptus and Hall in Cherry Blossom – with triple-gradient lenses, featuring three colors exclusive to the company. Here are all of the new styles:
Check out the collection here, along with their other fabulous sunglasses. These are my favorite styles:

Hall Sun Whiskey Tortoise
Piper Sun Revolver
Which Warby Parker pair from the new collection is your favorite? Have a wonderful night, y'all!

Charleston Recap

I spent a few days in Charleston during spring break, and I had the best time! It was filled with relaxation, amazing food, yummy drinks, and lots of laughs. I'm hoping to move to Charleston a year or two post-grad, so it was fun imagining where I'd live and my daily activities in one of my favorite cities! Here are some of the highlights:
I started off the trip with one of my favorites, shrimp and grits, with a strawberry daiquiri.

We went bar hopping that night, and it was a blast! A yummy brunch at Eli's Table was very necessary the next morning. I had the Crab Cake Benedict with cheese grits. SO delicious!
Later that day, we went to the slave market and walked back to our hotel. I know you can't tell, but this is a gorgeous, old church in the city, surrounded by trees and a pretty gate. The church was eye-level to the sidewalk, and I thought it was just gorgeous, so I had to snap a picture.
We also spent a lot of time at Folly Beach. I'm trying to convince a family member to buy a beach house there! It was so peaceful and beautiful outside.
On our last night, I had drinks and dinner with sorority sisters at Fleet Landing, which is right on the water. I enjoyed a Blue Moon at the outdoor bar, before heading inside.
You could see the U.S. Custom House from the bar and I thought it was so beautiful with the sun setting at night.
Inside, I enjoyed this amazing seafood pasta with another Blue Moon.
It was a fabulous trip, and I can't wait to go back next month! Happy Tuesday, y'all!

Addison and Lake

I know I've told y'all that I love gallery walls. I've been collecting prints and pictures that I want to frame for a gallery wall when I finally get my post-grad apartment. My dream is to move to Charleston in a couple of years, so I've been searching for a print to honor my home state and found the most beautiful one at Addison and Lake, a boutique art and design studio located in beautiful Chicago.

Karen, the owner, specializes in unique, custom artwork and paper products including personalized stationery, wedding invitation suites, custom illustrations, custom maps, calligraphy, and unique hand typography. Karen was sweet enough to work with me to create a Virginia print for my future gallery wall. I chose the font color, the state color, and the heart color. Of course I chose a pink state, with navy type and a navy heart. I love it!
I went home and searched for a frame at Target, Hobby Lobby, and a few other home stores, but couldn't find one I loved. I'm thinking a simple one like this is perfect:

Karen will work with you to make a print of your home state, and y'all, the best part? They are only $12! Isn't that crazy?! These prints would make a wonderful graduation gift, either of the city and state where the graduate went to college or one of his/her home state. Here are some of Karen's other state prints:

Addison and Lake also offers several other prints:
One of my favorites is this champagne print:

Wouldn't it look great over a bar cart?
Which Addison and Lake print is your favorite? Have a great day!
