I was recently sent a clutch from Hayden Reis, and since it is made from sail cloth, it is durable and water resistant, while still being stylish! All of Hayden Reis's products are made in the U.S.A, which I also really appreciate.
Today, I'm partnering with Brittany Lauren Design for a fabulous giveaway! I partnered with Brittany last fall for a giveaway and fell in love with her designs. Hi, lovely readers! I'm sure you've noticed that I haven't been commenting on other blogs as much, but the semester has been crazy, and I'm waiting for my position in the sorority to be over (it will basically done in early October). Today, I'd love for you to leave a comment telling me one topic/post you'd like to see on Miss Southern Prep in the near future. If you leave a comment, you will get 10 entries in a fab giveaway I'm hosting soon. And hint: a monogram is involved!
One of my favorite parts of fall is cozying up with big, comfy sweaters. It's starting to get a little cooler here in SC, and I'm dying to pull out my riding boots and chunky sweaters. I'm going home for fall break in a little less than a month, and I know I'm going to pack my suitcase full of fall sweaters, since it's a little cooler in VA! Here are some pretties I've had my eye on:
Belles & Whistles in a boutique that offers gameday dresses (SEC girls--all of the schools are covered!!), fashionable accessories, and state pride items! Heather, the owner, recently sent me the cutest scarf with my favorite animal on it:
ELEPHANTS! Isn't it precious?
Here's a close-up of the print:
Belles & Whistles has so many dresses and accessories, I had a hard time choosing my favorites. Here are my top picks:
Bow Down dress
Missoni inspired cardigan
This necklace is similar to the J. Crew necklace, but retails for a fraction of the cost!
I'm so excited to introduce y'all to Palm Beach Sandals! Palm Beach Sandals look similar to Jack Rogers, but there are a few key differences between the brands. I have always been a Jack Rogers girl, but in the past year, I have had quite a few problems with my Jacks. I bought a gold pair in June and by August, the heel was coming off of them! Then, I wore a worn-in pair to our first football game two weeks ago, and they literally rubbed my toes so badly, they began bleeding! NOT fun!
I was recently sent a pair of PB Sandals, and y'all, I am a convert! They are SO comfortable. Once I break in my Jacks, they are bearable, but never very comfortable. However, my PB sandals were comfortable from the first wear! PB Sandals are hand crafted with 100% leather, which not only makes them a better quality, but also more comfortable.
You can tell that the PBs (left) are much thicker and better quality! I don't know if y'all can see that silver spot in the middleish of the Jack, but that is metal (!!!) coming out of the shoe!
Y'all also know that I prefer products made in the USA. Palm Beach Sandals are made in the U.S.A., while Jack Rogers are all now made in Mexico, Brazil, and Guatemala using synthetic linings, and synthetic outsoles and a faux whip stitch. Here's a picture of the Jack Rogers sole, where it says Made in Mexico.
I was sent a pair of silver PB sandals, and I love them! I got them at the end of last week, and I've already worn them three days in a row! They are so amazing!
Have you ever shopped PB Sandals? If not, y'all HAVE to check them out! You'll never go back to Jacks! Have a wonderful day!
I have a little bit of OCD when it comes to planning my school work, schedule, day, etc. I am SUCH a planner, it gives me anxiety when I don't have everything that I need to do written out in front of me. To organize my life, I use many different lists, plus my daily planner and a Lilly wall calendar.
First, I use the Lilly wall calendar, just to see major deadlines in front of me all of the time. Each day is really small, so I only write the most important dates on this calendar.
Second, I use my Lilly planner's monthly calendar for major due dates, deadlines, etc.
Then I list homework, projects that are due, and test dates on each individual day. This is less overwhelming when I look ahead, because I only see things that are due that week, and I can make my daily to-do list based on what is coming up within the next few days.
I also make to-do lists for each day, so tons of thoughts aren't running around in my head as I'm trying to get everything done. Personally, it's easier for me to prioritize this way. I list what I need to get done in the order of importance, and I LOVE highlighting things off my list haha.
Finally, if I'm really stressed, I make to-do lists for different times of the day. I know that sounds crazy, but if I'm going to the library to study, I like to make a list of what I need to accomplish while I'm there. Or I'll make a to-do list for the time I'm in the study at the sorority house. This helps me stay on track and maximize my time.
I know that this extreme planning isn't for everyone, but I just thought I'd share what helps me stay sane and organized! How do you organize your life? Have a wonderful Monday!
