My Room!

This year, I'm living in an apartment with three other girls. It's not right on campus, but it's only about 5 minutes away, which has been so nice! Maybe later, I'll give y'all an apartment tour, but I thought today, I'd just show you my room!

My bed, with Lilly letters hanging over the head!

My bedside table, complete with my Keurig and a framed piece of monogrammed Lilly stationery from Barefoot Creations Inc. I also have an ottoman, which is used to store old notes that I think I might still need for reference. On top is a monogrammed pail, which holds my flat iron and blow dryer.

My mom bought me the cutest desk shelf from Target, but once I opened it, I realized you needed power tools to put it together! Obviously I didnt have any lying around my room, so I'm going to wait until my parents visit and get my dad to help me put it together. As you can tell, there's not a ton of storage space, so I used a few little cubbies from Target to try to maximize the space.

Finally, the dresser is right by the door, which has my TV and fresh flowers on top!

Thanks for joining me on a tour! Hope y'all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Preppy Dorm Showcase: Clare from Prep at the Beach

Today, I wanted to share Clare from Prep at the Beach's dorm room with y'all! Clare attends UNC Wilmington, and her room is full of pink and monograms--two things I adore!
______________________________________

This is an overview of my dorm room. My roommate and I decided not to match everything we had since we have different styles, but she incorporates some pink in her side, and I tried to add some blue into my side in order to pull it all together.

I chose a simple grey and white striped bedspread for my bed, so that I could add fun throw pillows and blankets without it getting too overwhelming. I added a few pieces of wall art up around my bed to give some character to the blank white walls.

I am obsessed with monograms, so I had to incorporate as many as I could into my dorm room. Both of my pillowcases are monogrammed and my two throw pillows are, as well. I also have a button "C" canvas art hanging over my bed.

My desk is organized in a way that I can get as much done there as possible. I only have one picture on the top and the rest is strictly school supplies with a little area for my makeup.

In a dorm room, it's almost impossible to find storage space for everything, so these cubbies from Target are perfect. I have six boxes in them that store everything from movies to cleaning supplies. I also have my alarm clock, fan, and storage basket with random things in it on top. I absolutely love those storage baskets; they are black with chevron print liners and work perfectly with my room.

You have to remember that your dorm room is your home, so my roommate and I decided a futon would be useful to have a place for guests to sit. This is a mini futon, which is perfect for smaller areas, and I love the look it adds to my room.

I love all of the monograms and pink in Clare's room! She's done a fabulous job putting in as much storage as possible, and her room really does feel like a home away from home. Thanks so much for sharing, Clare!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Preppy Dorm Showcase: Amanda from A Preppy Education

Today, I wanted to share an adorable dorm with y'all! This room belongs to Amanda from A Preppy Education, who goes to the University of Mary Washington in Virginia! Her room is so cute, and she has a ton of storage space in her room, which is so important!
________________________________________

Hey y'all, this is Amanda from A Preppy Education, I am a sophomore at UMW, and I love anything pink and Lilly printed. Last year I lived in a triple, but this year I have a double and am enjoying all of the space.

I love how she has all of her headbands, jewelry, and scarves out where she can see them. This definitely helps me when I'm picking out outfits, because I can see everything I have in front of me! She also has great little cubbies, perfect for storage!

I love having pictures on my desk, because I think it makes studying so much more enjoyable and makes your desk more homey. The coffee pot is also a definite for any college student, especially when you have early classes!

Love all of the different Lilly prints! It's an easy way to add color to your room!

I've never had a lofted bed, but I've always been jealous of all of my friends who did, because it really adds tons of space to your room! I love Amanda's comforter, too!

Isn't Amanda's room so cute?! Her lofted bed adds tons of extra space to her room, and she has so much storage! Thanks for sharing this with us, Amanda!

Hope y'all have a terrific Tuesday!

Preparing for School

School starts on Thursday, and I could not be any more excited! Of course, a new school year means shopping for school supplies! Personally, I love school supplies and shopping for them.

Usually, I stock up on plain spiral notebooks and devote one to each class for notes. However, the choices are getting pretty bad--I wish I could buy pink for every class, but I need to be able to differentiate between them--so I turned to my beloved Etsy to find some cuter options!

I found Lucky Paper Company, which specializes in fine paper goods, and ordered two personalized notebooks from them! The notebooks are super cute, and they can be personalized with your name! Of course, anything personalized sounds perfect to me!

The white part is where my name is!

These are the two notebooks I ordered, a gray chevron notebook with my name in hot pink, and a gate pattern notebook in citron green. I am in love with these notebooks! It was a hard choice, because all of Lucky Paper Co's notebooks are so cute! Here are two of my other favorites:

This notebook reminds me of Missoni!

This notebook is so elegant and simple!

What do you all think of these notebooks? If you're interested in spicing up your school supplies this year and buying one of these notebooks, you're in luck! Emily, the owner of Lucky Paper Co, has extended my readers a 10% discount from now until September 10th with the code stuza8Ut!

Another supply I needed this year was an iPad sleeve! Once again, I turned to Etsy to find a cute monogrammed one! I ordered one from iselltshirts, and I'm obsessed with it!

My parents made me put this ugly case on it, so if it drops, it doesn't break. Even with the case on, it still fits into my sleeve! I'm so obsessed with it and cannot wait to show it off at school!

I also love the iselltshirts shop! Look at some of the cute stuff they sell:
Tiffany-inspired Otterbox!

Another cute sleeve

Monogrammed coasters!

Have y'all gotten all of your school supplies yet? Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

DIY: Rhinestone Monogram Wall Art

I saw the idea for this on Let's Be Preppy and loved it so much, I decided to make my own!

Supplies:
     -rhinestones (any colors you want!)
     -canvas of any size
     -hot glue gun
-letters for whatever monogram you want to do

First, I went to Hobby Lobby and bought all of my supplies. I'm hanging a lot of different wall art in my room this year, so I decided to only do a small frame, so I bought one of the smallest canvases they had. I also bought two different colors of rhinestones--clear and multicolored. I ended up needing about 2 1/2 bags, and then I also used some small pearls I had left over from another craft.

Directions:

1. Either cut out or print out the letters you want to put on your board, and use small pieces of tape to tape them down in place.

2. Use your hot glue gun to glue pearls/rhinestones all around the canvas.

3. Once you glue rhinestones all around your letter(s), remove the letters, and you have your monogram wall art!
Although this craft was relatively easy, it took TONS of time and patience. I think I spent about 2 or 3 nights working on it, because it was just so time consuming! But it was totally worth it, and I'll definitely be hanging this in my room this year!
Have you done any DIY crafts for your room lately?Have a wonderful day!
