Million Dollar Fashion

I know I've said this before, but I love watching real estate shows, so of course I've been loving Million Dollar Listing New York. Not only do I love looking at the amazingly pricey pads, but I've also fallen in love with Michael's fashion. His preppy wardrobe is full of pocket squares, suits, bow ties, and monograms. Too perfect if you ask me.

I think he's so precious, and I just love his style! Do any of y'all watch Million Dollar Listing New York? Do you love Michael's fashion as much as me? Have a fabulous day!

Foxfield, here I come!

Today I'm heading up to visit one of my best friends and go to Foxfield with his frat. For those of you who don't know, Foxfield is a well-known horse race in Virginia that a lot of UVA students and surrounding students attend. I went last year, and it was SO much fun! I made a Polyvore set with some of my Foxfield essentials, which are all definite musts. I never carry too much, because I know it's going to be hot, and I hate carrying my purse around!

Foxfield!

Have you ever been to a horse race? Are any of y'all going to Foxfield? Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Perfectly Done Polka Dots

The other day, I stumbled across this photo, and instantly added it to my "Future Home" folder on my desktop.

Master Bedroom modern bedroom

I, like most preppy girls, absolutely love polka dots! However, I'd never really think to use them in my house, unless it was in a kid's room or playroom. But after seeing this master use them so well, I decided to look for the use of polka dots in other "grown-up" rooms throughout the house.

I love the poolside polka dots!

The polka dots on the pillows are perfect--not too overwhelming!

Sophisticated Key West Style traditional bedroom
I love how everything about this guest room is soothing! The polka dots aren't too crazy and loud.

Andrea May Hunter Gatherer eclectic hall
This wallpaper is a little much for me, but it definitely makes a statement!

LOVE the tablecloth!

What do you think--do you or would you ever use polka dots in your house? Have a wonderful day!

GCB Fashion

I know by this point almost everyone has heard of or seen an episode of GCB. At first, I wasn't sure if I'd like the show, but now I tune in every week, not only because I think it's hilarious, but also because I love to look at all of the fabulous clothes! All of the women (with the exception of Amanda) are so over-the-top, but each one has a unique style, and I've been dying over all of the brands I've spotted!

Love Carlene's dress!

And of course, I love all of the girls' bling!

Even the mom, Gigi, is fabulous!

Sharon is my favorite! I think she's too funny, and I love the Kate Spade sweater she's sporting!

Cricket always has the best necklaces!

I love all of Carlene's dresses, too.

Have you seen GCB? What do you think of the ladies' fashion? Who's your favorite character? Have a wonderful day!

A Cut Above Boutique--Review and Giveaway!

Have y'all heard of A Cut Above Boutique? It's an online boutique full of cute jewelry and clothes. Last week, Brittney, the owner, graciously sent me a dress to review!

I had a hard time choosing which dress to review, but eventually went with the Royal Wrap Dress. I was going to an afternoon lunch, where my grandmother was being honored, so I thought this would be the perfect dress to wear! When I ordered it, I thought it would be a jersey material, but it's actually polyester, which makes it a little more formal.
Love the royal blue color!

I paired this dress with a white sweater, a blue and white bangle I found at a local boutique, and silver Jack Rogers (not pictured); I also pulled my hair into a high ponytail, because I felt like I had a lot going on with the ruffle. I usually wear a size 8, so I went with the medium. It fit fairly true to size, but I have a larger bust area, so the large might have been a better fit on top.

I love the ruffle around the bust area! It's such a fun, girly touch! And I love that the tie under the bust is removable as well, so you can add a thin belt if you wanted to change it up!

I think this dress would be perfect during the summer, too, with white and gold accessories, or a large statement necklace!

Brittney even sent me a cute koozie in light blue, which I started using right away!

Overall, I love the Royal Wrap Dress, and would definitely recommend it! If you're interested in purchasing something from A Cut Above, you're in luck--Brittney is also giving away a $25 gift certificate to her boutique.

Chanel Love

I have always been obsessed with the classic Chanel CC logo pearl necklaces, but my obsession has been taken to a new level lately, because of Heather from the Real Housewives of Orange County. That girl has a fabulous collection of Chanel necklaces!

Heather's on the right!

Of course I've always dreamed of owning one, but I'm not sure my parents would ignore the $2,200 charge on their credit card....

Maybe one day, right?

Do you love the Chanel pearl necklaces as much as me? How do you feel about Heather? Hope you have a wonderful day!

Review: Monograms, Markings, and More

You may have remembered a few weeks ago when I blogged about needing a new hat. I featured an adorable one by Monograms, Markings, and More. Well, Porsche, the owner of Monograms, Markings, and More, sent me two items from her shop to review!

Porsche sent me this adorable Jute bag and one of her monogrammed baseball caps to review.

Here's a close-up of my bag and hat. For both, I went with the interlocking font in hot pink. I love how the pink pops against both the hat and bag!

I am seriously obsessed with this hat. I wore it for a run the other day, and it was perfect! I also have a rather large head and a lot of thick hair, so I have a hard time finding hats that actually look ok on me. This one fits well and also looks cute! I can't wait to wear it to the Club this summer, while lounging by the pool, and when I go to the beach!

Here's a photo of the bag standing up. It's pretty big, and would definitely be large enough for an overnight bag! I also love that the top zips, because I always worry that my stuff is going to fall out of my bag if it's not zipped! The material is kind of like a burlap--perfect for summer!

I put all of my gym stuff in here the other day and left in my car, so I could go right after my internship. As you can see, there was plenty of room! You can see that there's a small pouch near the top, which I put my iPod and headphones in.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Porsche and her shop! She was SO easy and sweet to work with, and I honestly love both my bag and hat so much! Her shop is so cute, and all of her items would be perfect to give as gifts!

Have you checked out Monograms, Markings, and More yet? What's your favorite item? Have a wonderful day!

Hostess Gifts

On Friday, I'm going to stay with one of my friends at her house for the weekend. Of course, I'm taking a hostess gift, but I haven't decided just what yet! Here are some items that I think are perfect to give a gracious host/hostess!

  • Alcohol--Bringing a bottle of the host/hostess' favorite bottle of wine or liquor is always appropriate, especially for a dinner party!
  • Stationery
  • A Book--My mom loves interior design, so one time, a guest brought her an interior design book to put on our coffee table, and I thought it was a great idea! Just make sure you choose one that you know the host will appreciate!
  • Monogrammed dish towels
  • Cheese with a cute cheese knife or cutting board
  • A baked treat from the host's favorite bakery or restaurant--You can even make the treat yourself, but it seems so thoughtful when you make/pick-up something that you know the host will just love!
  • A nice box of tea
  • Monogrammed serving tray
  • Candle
  • A frame--Bonus points if it's monogrammed!
  • Fresh flowers--Fresh flowers are always appreciated!
  • Monogrammed Tervis Tumblers--I think these would be perfect if you were staying at a friend's vacation home! Can you ever have too many Tervis tumblers?!

Obviously, hostess gifts are situational, so pick the appropriate gift based on the occasion and the host's likes and dislikes. Also, don't forget to send a thank-you note after leaving! I always write mine as soon as I get back, and send it the next day, so everything is fresh in my mind. I promise the host/hostess will appreciate it!

What do you bring as a gift to parties or when you stay with a friend for the weekend? Hope you have a great week!

House Beautiful

Yesterday, while I was working out, I began flipping through the April issue of House Beautiful, and I fell in love with one of the featured homes. An interior designer bought an old Savannah row house and updated it with bright colors, fun accents, and comfortable furniture. I love old, Southern homes, so of course I loved this house and couldn't help but share!

Love the outside! It's so traditional!

Entry

I'm seriously obsessed with this dining room! I think it would also be perfect for a beach house!

Love the light blues and whites in the living room!

Kitchen

Master Bedroom--I love the soothing colors!

Master Bath

Isn't this an amazing outdoor space? Seriously, so gorgeous!

Amazing! I seriously love this house! Do you read House Beautiful? Do you like what the owners have done to this Savannah Row House? Have a great day!
