Have you ever had one of those days where absolutely everything goes wrong? Yesterday was that day for me--tears were shed, a lot of caffeine was consumed, and an hour was spent on the phone with my mom. I felt like absolutely every single thing that could go wrong did--I got a parking ticket, even though I had 20 minutes left on my meter, I forgot about a mandatory event that I have to attend today, but can't because of class, my printer broke, and I couldn't find parking, so I was late to class. On top of all that, I had a paper to write that night and was a bit under the weather. Not a fun day....at all.
I know we all have those days, and it's so hard to get out of that funk, especially when everything seems to go wrong. When I'm having one of those days, I try to fill it with some good things that make me happy. Here are my top 5 instant mood boosters:
The Real Housewives
I love watching old episodes of the Housewives, while curled up in my bed wearing leggings and a sweatshirt.
A latte always makes me happy, especially if it's pumpkin spice.
Mac and Cheese
There's a little place near my house that makes the best homemade Mac and Cheese. Obviously, I can't get it while I'm away at school, but it's always the first thing I ask my parents to have waiting for me when I come home on vacation! I guess it's my comfort food.
I love taking a minute to completely zone out with some mindless reading!
I try to have flowers in my room a lot of the time, because they're just so cheery! Peonies are my favorite (pink, of course), but I love having any flowers in my room!
What makes you happy on a terrible day? Have a great day!
I, like a lot of other Southern girls, have a love for pearls. My sorority's jewel is a pearl, so of course, I love them even more! Lately, I've been super into pearl statement necklaces, like this fabulous one from J. Crew:
However, on my college girl budget, I just cannot afford the price tag! Here are some fabulous (and more affordable) options I'm loving:
Have y'all checked out Sweet Clover before? It's a gorgeous Etsy shop that offers beautiful, unique necklaces. Shelli, the owner, started out making jewelry casually, but once she started receiving compliments on her pieces all of the time, she decided to turn her hobby into a business! Sweet Clover is filled with chunky beads, necklaces, turquoise, and other gorgeous materials! Check out some of my favorite pieces from her shop:
Gorgeous blue colors
This is technically a TN necklace, but I love the orange for fall! It reminds me of the beautiful leaves and pumpkins!
LOVE the turquoise!
I'm a sucker for anything pink, but I also love the statement this necklace makes!
I love this statement piece! Y'all know how much I love pink, and this necklace would be perfect to spice-up any outfit! Just click the title of this post and fill out the Rafflecopter Widget to enter!
I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's for the first time last year (see posthere). But I loved it the very first time I saw it! I've been looking for some decorations for this awkward wall I have, and when I stumbled upon a Breakfast at Tiffany's stationery set, I knew exactly what to do with it!
I ordered these from lullula on Etsy. I couldn't decide between this set or an adorable set with a Kate Spade bag and Chanel perfume bottle:
However, Tiffany's always wins in my book, so I ordered these and then set out to find some black frames. My order came with three different designs, and I found a set of 4 black frames for only $8 at Target!
I framed all of them, and now they're occupying my "awkward" wall in my room:
Cute, right? And it was so cheap--the entire project cost around $20!
Do you love Breakfast at Tiffany's, too? Have a fabulous day!
Do you remember when I posted about going to class looking presentable last month? Of course, I still try to look my best when going to class, but as soon as I get home, I change into comfy clothes, aka Norts and a tshirt or sweatshirt. Well lately, I've been heading to the library at night, and I really hate looking too rough. Enter Sweet T's by Tracy Guin. I stumbled across this Etsy shop when searching for a monogrammed pull-over, and I am SO glad I did! Tracy sent me this gorgeous sweatshirt, and I've been wearing it non-stop!
All wrapped-up when it arrived!
It's so soft on the inside, and I've never seen a sweatshirt with a monogram across the entire front, usually the monogram is just in the corner. I'm so in love with it, and everyone who sees it asks me where I got it!
I wore it to the library last week with Norts, while studying for midterms!
Do you need even more incentive to order this cute sweatshirt? The first twenty-five people to order a sweatshirt with Miss Southern Prep written in the note area will be entered to win a free monogrammed pocket tshirt of their choice! So fun!
How do you do lazy days in style? What would you pair your monogrammed sweatshirt with? Have a fantastic day!

P.S. Don't forget to enter my monogrammed ring giveaway fromMonograms Etc. Hint--I'm hosting another giveaway this week, and if you entered my Monograms Etc. giveaway, you'll automatically get 3 extra entries! Also, make sure you like Monograms Etc. on Facebook. This is mandatory. If you don't, then you will not be eligible to win.
Don't forget to enter my Monograms Etc. giveaway! There has been some confusion, but let me clarify--"liking" Monograms Etc. on Facebook is mandatory! If you do not like it, you will not be eligible to win! But good news, that gives you one extra chance in winning!
This week, I received the most adorable ring from Monograms Etc. Sallie owns a gorgeous monogram shop, and it was so very sweet of her to send me a ring! I chose a square ring with a black background and a pink monogram, of course.
Isn't it pretty?! The ring is sterling silver, and there's a heav-duty seal over the monogram, so it's durable and won't chip for years!
One of my favorite features of the ring is that it's adjustable! Even though I know my ring size, I get nervous ordering sized jewelry, since I'm never sure if it will fit quite right. And since it's monogrammed, it's not something easily returnable! But this is perfect, because if you're ordering one for a friend, you don't have to guess her ring size!
The back of the ring
This ring is also available in a circle:
And there are tons of background colors, monogram colors, and monogram fonts available!
I have to sleep in complete darkness, but if I didn't, this most certainly would be coming my way in the mail ASAP.
Don't you love this shop? Are you interested in winning a monogrammed ring of your own? The winner of this giveaway will receive a large round or square monogram ring of her choice, in any color she chooses! Just click on the title of this post and then fill out the Rafflecopter!
