Dell=Done

Bear with me for a bit, because I'm going to go on a bit of a rant.

First off, my computer is dunzo, which has been causing me so much stress. A year and a half ago, when I was getting ready to start my freshman year of college, I bought a Dell Inspiron laptop, in of course, a shade of pink. I had heard wonderful things about the Inspiron notebooks, but let me tell you, I've had nothing but problems.  Lately, my computer has been extra slow, and it's been turning off randomly, in addition to no longer charging.Yesterday, my computer decided to finally die, so of course I frantically took it to the Geek Squad, and they said there's not much they can do for it. Ughh frustrated is an understatement. Since I'll have to replace it sometime soon, I wanted to get y'alls opinions. Do you think I should go with another PC or a Mac? I'd love some suggestions!

Sorry for the crazy/short post! Hope you have a lovely Thursday!

  1. I have a PC and am sticking with it. I love MACs but I tried before and I just can't get used to them!

  2. Definitely get a Mac! They are seriously the best computer. Everything is so easy and things are organized properly. I haven't had any problems with my Macbook and I have had it for almost two years. I will admit that making the switch is a little challenging at first, but you will quickly get used to it and fall in love :)

  3. I have exactly the same problem with my Inspiron - worst laptop I ever had; I've ended up having to spend more to get it repaired than it cost in the first place!

  4. I got a mac before my freshman year and its been great so far (1/2 way through junior year). Applecare is great and covers most everything but spills. I know of so many people who have had to get a new pc because of problems! Good luck!

  5. You should definitely go for a Mac Book Pro! I love mine! It's really probably one of the best lap tops out on the market - super long battery life and the internal hard drive is fast and efficient. Let me know if you have any questions? I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to this stuff! Haha.

  6. I have a PC (Toshiba) and I love it. I got it in January 2011 to replace my previous laptop (also a Toshiba) which I had for 3-4 years.

    My dad, sister and brother all have Macs. They love them. My boyfriend (who also has a Mac) thinks I should get one too- saying it's easier to use, which is good for the technology challenged aka me. He says you turn it on and it just works, you don't need to do anything.

  7. Definitely a Mac. I know some people think they are overrated and overpriced but I had 5 non-Apple laptops in my lifetime before a Mac because I had to get a new one almost every year or so.. yes that bad. I currently have the MacBook Pro and it is AMAZING and so fast. I also had the old school white MacBook from 2007 and I had to get a new laptop because I spilled Crystal Light on the old one on accident.. well a week after the spill it turned back on and STILL WORKS. Seriously I will suggest Mac until I die.

  8. I would recommend making the switch to a mac. I had a similar problem with my dell, and it died after my sophomore year at Georgia. I got a Macbook in August of 2008 and it's still going strong!

  10. I had a Dell Inspiron for a few years and I was very happy with it... until it got a virus about 2 weeks after I started writing my PhD thesis :( (even with me updating my viruscan every week!) It survived but was never really the same. Of course now I'm terrified of viruses, so I have a macbook pro. I like it, but I don't love it. I'm still a PC girl at heart, and the mouse gets stuck in right click pretty often and it kind of drives me insane. But other than that I'm happy! It helps that my husband is a mac guy so I can turn to him when I have trouble.

  14. I've been wanting a Mac (they are less prone to viruses and just plain gorgeous) but I've had my Compaq Presario for over five years now and it still runs like a dream (given I regularly run software to clean out all the junk hidden in the dark depths of my windows folders *cookies, temporary internet files etc.*)
